Question: I have a nordictrack C1800S treadmill about 4 years old.It does not work need help!?
Question Description:
When you turn on treadmill it runs for 1 second then stops but the timer and distance numbers keep working like your running on it.Need info on repairs.
Answer#1: Unfortunately, if your Nordic Track is 4 years old then it's already outlived the time it was designed to run for. Most of the Icon Fitness brands (Proform, Weslo, Nordic Track, and Image) are really only designed to work for about 2 years before dying. Can you switch the treadmill to manual mode? If you can and it runs, then the motor isn't the problem, it's probably the power relays from the console to the motor. You can generally get that fixed for $50 or so by any treadmill service tech. If the motor is dead, then you'd be looking at a replacement which gets expensive -- figure as much as $300-500 for a new motor plus installation time (2-3 hours at around $45-50/hour). I'd suggest calling Nordic Track and speaking with their tech support line. They won't do much for you, but they might have some suggestions on where you can take the unit to get diagnosed in your area. A particularly helpful tech might even walk you through the process of checking the power connectors in your treadmill. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. We do work on Nordic Track units in our shop.-The Treadmill Senseiwww.treadmillsensei.com
