Question: Is the NordicTrack AudioStrider 600 Elliptical worth purchasing?
Question Description:
Is this machine worth buying used for about $350?
Answer#1: In my opinion, using the money to buy a gym membership will get MUCH better results than purchasing one piece of home gym equipment. For $350 you could be a member of a gym for about a year, depending on what gym you go to and what deal you get. At a gym you have access to several different kinds of cardio equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, stair climbers, rowers, stationary bikes, and more. You also get access to all the different weight training equipment. Many gyms even feature classes to keep you in shape...and entertained. If you spend the $350 on just one piece of machinery, you're not going to get the best workout you can. Your body is going to get bored with doing the same exercise again and again, and it will lose it's effectiveness after just a few months. Also, you may get bored with just one piece of machinery to work with. And, if there's ever a problem or it breaks down, you'll have to pay for repairs. Some people like working out at home because they don't like working out in front of other people, they don't have to drive to the gym, they don't like the crowds. If this is the case, you don't have to go to a popular 24hour fitness or golds gym. Many communities have smaller private gyms that offer similar variety, with smaller and less crowded facilities. If you still wish to purchase your elliptical machine, I recommend buying it from a reputable store in your area. This way, you won't have to pay for shipping if you're purchasing it from the Internet. Also, if there is a problem or breakdown, you can go directly to the store and argue for free (or discounted) maintenance in person. Also, if buying it new from a store, it may come with a warranty. Definitely only buy it if it has a warranty. Don't buy it used or "as is" from a private seller. If something it's wrong with it, then you have to pay for it out of your pocket. Good luck with your decision and I hope everything works out for you, no matter what you decide to do. :)
