Question: Bowflex Equivalent to Free Weight?

Question Description:
I have a conditioning test for football on Tuesday, and I went to my uncle's house today to see what I could lift on the Bowflex he has. Could somebody tell me the equivalent from Bowflex to free weight or visa versa?

Answer#1: no when you do bowflex you use pulleys and stuff like that which helps you control and have better leverage over the weight. So if you do use the bowflex it take more weight to do an exercise than free weights.

Answer#2: its hard to determine because free weight requires diff stabalizers. it also depends on the type of excersise you were attempting.Generally, freeweight is more difficult to handle because of the dynamic stabalizers and balancing involved.I dont think there is a corolation between the two because they are too different.I'd estimate that it adds [up to] 30 lbs [maybe more or less depending of the lifter] to a bench press.
