Question: bowflex is it worth it?

Question Description:
I been thinking of buying a bowflex. Is it worth the money. Can you really get as strong as what they say. If you have one let me know what you think.

Answer#1: You have to realize that the folks in those commercials not only use the Bowflex to exercise...but they also follow that teeny tiny print on the bottom of the screen that says "use in conjunction with a diet and exercise program." Also, the teeny tiny print says elsewhere in the commercial "Results not typical."Personally, I don't care for the bowflex machines. I find them stiff and difficult to use. I would rather invest my money in a good cardio machine (if you don't like to run or bike outdoors) and a weight station.A problem with buying home fitness equipment is that when at home, people find all kinds of excuses not to use their new equipment...there's too many distractions at home between the TV, the computer, family members, household chores, etc. I would recommend a gym membership instead.

Answer#2: Every year, a new 'exercise gadget' comes out - at a good high price. Some people seem to get some benefits, for as long as they use them. The secret about all these gadgets is that YOU NEED TO DO THE REGULAR EXERCISE!!! - pretty much any one of them will give some benefits. Some though can cause stress to some areas, such as low back if used too much.Really, you can get most of the benefits by joining a gym and using the equipment there. You usually get helpful advice on using the equipt properly, as well as being able to use a whole range of different machines that will work different body areas. Most people buy these gadgets, then stop using them after a few weeks - they have almost no resale value.

Answer#3: no i do not own one. but i have asked around and i have been told by many people that it is not worth it. you can get strong, sorta yes. but it will probably not get the results you want. i recommend free weights if you are looking to get strong. even the people in the commericals dont use the bowflex completly, i have been told they use free weights, which is recommended by almost everyone...hope that helps
