Question: I am looking to buy a Bowflex soon and I was wondering if it worth it?

Question Description:
I've been researching and wondering if getting a Bowflex extreme SE is worth it or not. I am highly motivated to get in shape and be healthier. My main goal is to lower my fat percentage and tone up. I am thinking more swimmers build rather then bodybuilder big. I will supplement the bowflex with other cardio activities. I was wondering if the bowflex will do the trick? Any bad things people would like to share with me about the machine? Can it give me results that I could get at the gym?

Answer#1: Well, one thing you should know is that the fitness models in their commercials didn't get that way because they bought a bowflex. Now, I'm not saying it isn't a good piece of equipment, but in the end, all it does is work your muscles against resistance. No different than any other form of resistance training does. Your muscles don't know what brand of equipment you're using. The amount of dedication and effort you put into your workouts will have a much greater impact on your results than the type of equipment you use will. For more on this, read this post:http://www.thetruthaboutdiets.com/2007/01/tool-is-not-what-is-important.htmlHope that helps,Dave S.Owner, Perfect Fit Personal Training Studiohttp://www.thetruthaboutdiets.com

Answer#2: i have a bowflex. it sits in a room that nobody goes in. i dont remember the last time it was used. if you are going to use it, it will probably do great for you. You mentioned swimming. if you are looking into buying a pool, get an endless pool. CHECK IT OUT you swim against an adjustable current untill you get tired. then you stop and float back to the switch and turn it off. If you need a house mine has the pool, and comes with bowflex motivator, and a treadmill.

Answer#3: Everyone i know that has bought a Bowflex in the past is now using it as a hanging rack to dry clothes or something of the sort. It seems they found it hard to work out at home because there were so many distractions and easy to walk away without finishing what they had planned on doing. Get a gym membership.

Answer#4: The infomercial says it is.

Answer#5: no way i bought mine5 years ago and love it!fast results if ure serious

Answer#6: id say yes it is worth it
