Question: What is the matter with my treadmill?
Question Description:
I own a Weslo Cadence 200 CS Treadmill. Well the problem is that one of my kids decided to turn the speed control dial and it broke. Now I can't use it. I called the manufacturer and explained what the problem is, so they sent me the part that they said I needed. Wrong. Does anyone out there know the difference between the speed switch and the speed potentiometer? I desperately need the right part. So if any one can please help me out.
Answer#1: have you switched it on?
Answer#2: The original meaning of the term potentiometer, which is still in use, is an apparatus used to measure the potential (or voltage) in a circuit by tapping off a portion of a known voltage from a resistive slide wire and comparing it with the unknown voltage by means of a voltmeter or galvanometer. The present popular usage of the term potentiometer (or 'pot' for short) describes an electronic component which has a user-adjustable resistance. Usually, this is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding contact in the center. If all three terminals are used, it can act as a variable voltage divider.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PotentiometerA switch is a device for changing the course (or flow) of a circuit. The prototypical model is a mechanical device (for example a railroad switch) which can be disconnected from one course and connected to another. The term "switch" typically refers to electrical power or electronic telecommunication circuits. In applications where multiple switching options are required (e.g., a telephone service), mechanical switches have long been replaced by electronic variants which can be intelligently controlled and automated.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SwitchWeslo Cadence 200 CS TreadmillOwner's manuals may be purchased online, or can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat® format.http://www.iconservice.com/weslo/manuals.htmlmodel number and serial number required. Please note that manuals for most models manufactured prior to 1998 are not available in electronic format.
