Question: Why Does It Take Less Energy To Jog On A Treadmill?
Question Description:
Or am I just imaging it does? Does this mean if I can jog 2 miles in 20 minutes on a treadmill for example, but I wouldn't be able to in a park with the same effort?
Answer#1: bcz it is smooth as opposed to you adjusting to a road condition
Answer#2: That is very strange to me, 'cuz I walk 2 hours a day outside in the evenings, up and down hills etc. But when the weather is bad I do my treadmill, and I can hardly stand it for more than 30 mins. It feels like it is walking ME. I dont care for it, it is like cruise control, it seems like there is a struggle there where you arent entirely in control.Cant wait to see the rest of your answers!!!!
Answer#3: Well you are in a controlled environment, when on a treadmill. The other thing is when running outside you have things like the ground and wind that can cause you to slow down and push harder to keep up.
Answer#4: Because the treadmill is moving under your feet already,,it moves you if you just stand there, giving no effort.
Answer#5: The park may have hills or maybe your foucusing less on pain while on a treadmill.
