Answer#1: Treadmills are very boring--a lot more boring than running outside in the fresh air. And 90 percent of them end up being used as clothes hangers after a couple months. Then they're sold in yard sales or classified ads.So if it was me, I'd look for the cheapest one in the classified ads or Craigslist. That way if you want to sell it in three months, you won't have as much money tied up in it.Then again, if you don't get bored with it, you can upgrade to a better one in three months.
Answer#2: Go to a few gyms and check out the wear and tear on their treadmills and ask them
Answer#3: Precor is pretty special. Lots of functions and easy to use.
