Question: I am almost 32 and work out with my heart rate between 130 and 140.is that good for weight lost or too low?
Question Description:
I work out about 5 days a week between 45 to 60 minutes on the treadmill or the precor, sometimes half and half. Also my resting heart rate always fluctuates. Sometimes it can go down to 68 and up to 95. Seems to change within minutes. Is that normal?
Answer#1: You're definitely on the right track for weight loss, effective training heart rate should falls between 65~70% x (220 - age) of your heart beats. Do not be too worry about your resting heart rate it looks pretty normal too. However, the frequency and time span of your high impact training looks alittle worrying for someone of your age. Beware of injuries and take supplements once you age further, especially when one is > 35 years old. good luck!
Answer#2: I'm pretty sure the rule is that your heart rate should equal your weight minus your age.
