Question: For you mothers...Have any of you used a treadmill for walking during pregnancy?? Was the pregnancy smoother?
Question Description:
How many of your mothers exercised on a treadmill by doing a moderate walk every day or every other day during your pregnancy? How was your pregnancy overall with exercise? I also want to know what treadmill speed were you walking on a 2.0 or 2.3 something like that or more higher? I have been doing treadmill from 2 weeks now in my 1st pregnancy and go up to a 2.3 speed for a good 25 minutes daily. Otherwise I make sure I do it every other day. Walking is good right?
Answer#1: My doc says walk 4 times for 10 minutes a day. It is a great way to stay in a great preggo shape and walking WILL help you when you are in labor. I used to work full time during my 1st pregnancy. My labor was 3 1/2 from water breaking to delivery and exactly on his due date. Plus I had only gained like 14 pounds and he was 7 pounds 5 oz. I also was wearing my normal clothes when I got home from hospital. It was great. then my 2nd child, i didnt work and sat around alot. I had a trickle water breakage and 14 hours later I had a baby. I gained 25 pounds with her, and it took me like 8 months to get all my weight off. THis is my 3rd pregnancy, again I dont work, dont walk(need to) and I feel lazy all the time. I have already gained 35 pounds and I am only 33 weeks. We have a treadmill and I wish I would have been using it. Go for it and good luck.
Answer#2: Well, I didn't have a treadmill. but I have a nine baby shop that kept me busy during my first pregnancy and it was great, no serious problem, except for morning sickness. I was pregnant with my daughter and wasn't working or walking as much and it was horrible, because I wasn't active as I was and it was uncomfortable the whole time
Answer#3: I work at a gym and during my pregnancy I did all kinds of workouts...I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes a day going 2.1...You dont wanna over do it so just take it easy...Walking is great but as your pregnancy progresses it will get tougher so just relax and walk while watching TV or reading a book..Good luck and Congrats!! :)
Answer#4: Yes...walking is good during pregnancy...I walked with my first one and my pregnancy was awesome..I had no problems...my labor was great...it was only 4 hours long and I did it without an epidural...I'm 34 weeks with my second...I haven't exercised at all...and it's been a crazy pregnancy...I have gestational diabetes...and had to be put on a diet...I'm not sure how labor will be this time around...I don't know if the difference in my pregnancies has anything to do with my exercise habits or not though...that's just my experience...
Answer#5: Yes, absolutely walking is healthy and the baby is dropping better to get in the birth position.Better to walk in fresh air but tread milling is okayI walked constantly on my job when I was pregant and I had a really easy time during delivery
Answer#6: Walking is very good durign pregnancy. Using a tredmill is fine. Dont walk to fast, or run. otherwise walking everyday/every other dayu is good. It helps with labor, and strengthens your legs and lower abdomin. which your lower abdomin is what you use to push.
Answer#7: walking is great! I do the treadmill everyother day at a 3.0-3.5 I'm naturally a fast walker. and for 20-30 mins. Just make sure you don't overdo it.I also ride the bike at the gym. Good luck and congrats!!
