Question: Did any of you mothers walk on the treadmill during pregnancy for moderate exercise?

Question Description:
For you mothers...Have any of you used a treadmill for walking during pregnancy?? Was the pregnancy smoother? How many of your mothers exercised on a treadmill by doing a moderate walk every day or every other day during your pregnancy? How was your pregnancy overall with exercise? I also want to know what treadmill speed were you walking on a 2.0 or 2.3 something like that or more higher? I have been doing treadmill from 2 weeks now in my 1st pregnancy and go up to a 2.3 speed for a good 25 minutes daily. Otherwise I make sure I do it every other day. Walking is good right?

Answer#1: I downhill skied until they closed the slopes (7 mos pg), won a raquet ball tournament (8 mos pg) and won a golf tournament the week before I delivered. Do whatever you did before! You're pregnant, not sick.

Answer#2: no i never did, i just went on walks with friends, but i would talk to your doctor about the treadmill and the speed it also depends on your health, your doctor can give you a lot better advice as to how long and what speed is best for you.

Answer#3: Walking is very good, I have used my gazzle to do a few miles on daily and it seems like i feel heathlier then my other pregnancies.

Answer#4: walking is very ggood but olypic training isnot unless you have alwyas worked out heavily if you were walking fast on the treadmill before then it is perfectly safe but if not keep it at a reasonable speed becasue your body is not accoustumed to it and it could be harmful.. best of luck

Answer#5: WAlking is excellent. I walked 2 miles three to four days a week until about 6.5 months. Then it got cold and I got sick. Now i use the tread mill. I just walk whenever i feel like it, at whatever pace feels nice. When you're pregnant and walking for exercise, you know you're pushing yourself too hard if you cant hold a conversation while walking.
