Question: Treadmill!!!!!!!!?

Question Description:
I was wanting to get back into exercising on my treadmill. How often should I go on it and what mode should I use? Like should I go by calories, distance, time and for how long? Any suggestions would be great.

Answer#1: As long as its daily and you sweat, and it's on an incline, you're doing good. You should feel the burn as they say.Two to Three miles on an incline treadmil is a very good workout, regardless of speed, although the fastest you can handle is the best.Personally when I do my treadmill workout, I do it everyday, (not skipping any days), an incline of 15%, and a speed of almost 4miles/hr (4.0) for about 45min.Of course when if first started it was less and after about a week I was up to this.

Answer#2: Any amount of exercise is good, so choosing between calories, distance, and time isn't really an issues. It depends on what you're aiming for. For increasing endurance go for distance and time, for shaping up go for calories or time. 3500 calories equals 1 pound of weight, so therefore working off that many calories (over a week or whatnot) means that you'll lose that amount. The bad news is that most exercise machines overestimate the amount of calories one is working off by a lot, which is why just trying to work out at least 30 minutes a day is better. For treatmills in particular I've heard to set the incline to 1 or higher to burn more. I guess having it set to 0percent incline plus having the treadmill belt going backwards, in a sense, is not benefical at all. As far a motivation, try timing yourself to walk/run a particular distance, then either try to do that same distance in less time, or increase the distance--that will give you a goal to keep in mind over time.

Answer#3: go by what is comfortable..try to do a mile at a jogging pace if you can go longer than do it. Set a minimum distance and allow yourself to push beyond that if you can. Over time increase the minimum.I tend to jog every day, other might prefer every other day.

Answer#4: start with time, work your way up to 30min everydayonce you can do 30 minutes without stopping.then start seeing how far you can run in that timeor see how many calories you can burn in 30 min and set goals about how far and how many calories.and krrp getting better.
