Question: Treadmill/Excercise Bike- Recommendations?
Question Description:
I've started walking to burn off 400 calories a day, because I'm hoping to have lost a stone (14 lbs) or two, by July. However, In the winter, it will be too dark after college, so I am planning on saving up for a treadmill/excercise bike.Would anyone have any preference over a treadmill or bike, and why? Also, which is the easiest to stay motivated with?If you reccommend a bike/treadmill, would you suggest any features? If I bought a treadmill, I would not need a calorie or distance counter, as I have that on my pedometer.Thank you very much in advance!
Answer#1: I’d avoid the treadmill as it is more stress on the knee’s and back. An exercise bike is much easier on the joints, or if you prefer the walking motion, get an elliptical. That will also give you motion for the upper body, and personally it’s more fun than either bike or treadmill.
