Question: Kitten on the treadmill?
Question Description:
I have a three month old persian kitten. I also have a treadmill. I'm not sure what my question is. Bottom line is I'm terribly worried of what might happen if my kitten were to go near the treadmill while someone was working out on it. When I'm on the treadmill I always make sure the kitten is in another room. But I'm afraid my husband might forget to put the kitty in another room if I'm not home someday. He can be a little absent minded sometimes. Does anyone else out there own a kitty and a treadmill? What do you do?
Answer#1: Yes, I do. I have an absent minded hubby, too, so I feel your pain. LOLMy kitties have an outdoor enclosure, so I don't have to worry about this too much. But they do come inside, so I do have to make sure they aren't in harm's path when they are in the house. What I do is, if I'm going to be away, I put them somewhere where they won't be around the treadmill. And I let my husband know that so-and-so is where the cats are so that he won't accidentally let them out.
Answer#2: I think cats are smart enough to know not to get on a vary fast moving object. They like control.
Answer#3: this is the cutest question ever! i think your kitten will be smart enough to not get near the tredmill. it is probably scared of the noise anyway...
Answer#4: put a lil note by the treadmill that says: Make sure "insert cat name" is in another room before using treadmill. Thanks.
Answer#5: They are usually afraid of it and stay away from a treadmill in use, but of course cats are very curious animals sooo do your best to keep it away from it.
Answer#6: Write a note and tape it to the front panel of the tredmill reminding your husband to put the kitten away. Make sure the note covers the start button so he has to lift it up.
Answer#7: Have you ever tried letting the kitty out and keeping an eye on it while you're on the treadmill to see how it responds?Chances are that if you're going slowly and paying attention it will be a little curios, but won't get too close. If it doesn't approach the treadmill then I wouldn't worry about confining it.
Answer#8: Are you afraid that kitty might run into the mechanics of the treadmill? Why not put a barrier around it so that kitty can't get in even if it is in the room?
