Question: Which exersize machine is better, tredmill or eliptical?
Question Description:
ok so i have strong abs but you cant tell becasue of the fat on the top, most poeple tell me to do sit up but that only strenghtnes my abs and i want to see my abbs soo is the tredmill better for your abs or is the eliptical better for your abs?
Answer#1: I'm all about the eliptical. These are the best (of both):http://www.precore.com
Answer#2: The elliptical is both easier on joints and has a more significant incline available (focus on the glutes, calves, etc.). If going for endurance, I think it's easier than the treadmill (but still feel like I get a good work out); I'll stay on it for a much longer period of time.
Answer#3: I asked my doctor this very question just about 2 weeks ago and was told that walking was the best option. And it's free but you need to walk at least 3 miles a day.
Answer#4: Treadmill, since you actually run at up to 10 miles per hour.In running, you get off your feet, and have some body lean. The lean makes your low back muscles work more than an elliptical, on which you are more vertical. In getting off your feet, you push off hard and you also land, on a bent leg hopefully, which requires more strength for both than just standing bent-legged on an elliptical. You get stronger, you get more muscle, so your metabolism goes up more. You burn more calories on the treadmill, and afterwards as well.
Answer#5: Hard to answer because of the way you phrased the question. Neither are good for the abs, per se, if you mean training your abs (both require some core stabilization but I wouldn't say they train the abs hard). If you mean "lose weight around your midsection," then the best machine would be the one you can and will use more, the one that will not cause any pain or injuries, and the one you like more. Either can give a great workout -- it depends on which one you get more out of. It's a subjective decision. Personally, I would choose neither. I am a dancer and I burn more calories from -- and also enjoy -- dancing. For others, it may be swimming. It depends on you. Good luck.
Answer#6: The elliptical is best for your abs but the sit-ups will help also.
Answer#7: either machine will work for you---the problem is that you need to get rid of the layers of adipose (fat) on top of your abdomen muscles if you want the definition in your abs to be visible. both the elliptical and tredmill will burn an adequate amount of calories, provided you put the resistance on the elliptical machine between 5 and 8 and stay on it for about 30-45 minutes at least 3 times a week, if not more. same with the tredmill, you have to get your heart rate up into the "fat burning zone" (check the charts...usually they are right on the tredmill or they have them somewhere around the gym, it has to do with your age). Once you burn the fat off, your abs will be defined and VISIBLE :) good luck!
Answer#8: elipticals give me a better ab workout. I can feel the burn in my abs with an eliptical, but not on a treadmill.
Answer#9: you leave your tits alone, you need to do aerobic exercise, so anything that gets your heart rate up for about 40 minutes a day will burn the fat
Answer#10: They both make good clothes hangers :)
Answer#11: Id go with elliptical- builds muscle which burns fat and its a great fat burner but instead of just burning fat and adding a minimal amount of muscle like from the treadmill.
