Question: Treadmills, eliptical trainers or recumbent bikes?

Which one is best if used daily, for improving fitness, toning and losing weight?
Answer#1: any combination. Change the machine you use about every 3 days to keep your workouts fresh and interesting so you will adhere to them more often.
Answer#2: Eliptical trainer because it offers a wider range of movement that would meet all 3 purposes you mentioned. The other 2 machines are only good for fitness and weight loss but won't do much on toning. The arm and torso movements the eliptical offers will help tone the arms and upper body, not to mention the legs.
Answer#3: I'd avoid the eliptical. It's bad for your hips. Imagine you are running in the sand, your footprints make a straight line. The elliptical is forcing your hips out of their normal pattern.
