Question: Exercise Bike?

i am going to buy an exercise bike from Argos tomorrow, as i don't have much money i was planning on buying one for about £70. i just wanted to know if the bike will be any good or is it too cheap to actually work ? i plan to use it for 30mins every day
Answer#1: yep i agree with smiley , the novelty soon wears off and you end up with an expensive clothes horse.Its also very difficult to stick to any kinda regime as there are far too many distractions around you at home for you to give them too much of your time.I used to use one but soon got bored with it an got myself a proper bike , changed my life !The one good thing about it is the fact that your forced to do more mileage really than you may plan for as you not only have to work to get somewhere but you then have to make your way back lol ...good for the stamina and the beer gut lol !

Answer#4: Hi anyform of excercise will work, and if you do it for 30mins then that is whats recommended. The only thing wrong with buying one for a low price is it may not have tension settings on it, So you wont be able to make it harder for you to peddle once you have got use to peddling on a precific tension. But you never know it may be cheap but it could have different settings and even a computer on it. You just have to read about it. But by all means it will work and is £70 is not bad for you first excercise bike. You may beable to save for a better one or a different type of excercise equipment in the future.
Answer#5: I bought mine from Tescos and it cost about that price too. I would say they are great for exercise as long as you use them at least 2-3 times per week for at least a 6 month period. You start off on a low setting then build-up your strength by increasing the force towards the end of each session - one step-up each week until you can cycle on the max setting. Start off by cycling for about only about 10 mins then build up the time, or distance gradually. You must be disciplined and keep it up to get the most benefit - lost a stone and half and put on some nice muscle.
Answer#6: Don't listen to them , an exercise bike is great as long as you just don't pedal a few times and let it coast ..... you need to pedal pretty fast , but don't kill yourself , and you will see a difference .....
Answer#7: It will work fine. Its really up to you and how much time you put into it. Personally, I'd recommend a real bike so you can enjoy the outdoors as you ride. But a stationary bike has its purpose to. You should do as much comparison shopping in person and online, you might save some more money. But in the end the old adage rings true ~ you get what you pay for. So you may want to spend a little more and get a better model. The important thing is that you use the one you get regularly. They usually end up as a piece of furniture to hang things on, etc. Enjoy your rides! :)
Answer#8: I have a multi gym, treadmill, rowing machine, stepper, Air walker & I haven't the strength to use them when I get home from work
Answer#9: Hey,£70 definitely sounds too cheap to buy a quality exercise bike - what everyone has in mind when they buy home exercise stuff is the equipment you see in the gym, which is heavy-duty and costs hundreds or even thousands of pounds. If I were you I would buy a proper bike and use that for 30 mins a day, or get a gym subscription and use that for half an hour a day. Wait a while until you can afford a decent item before you splash out on home gym equipment, and seek proper consumer advice before you do so! Best of luck!

Answer#11: Don't waste your money!Everyone I know that has bought one stopped using it within weeks and they are useless for exercise!
Answer#12: why not get a real bike and use it to go to work or the shops or to visit friends... not only will you get exercise but you will save money and the environment too!
