Question: exercise bike?
Question Description:
if i go on the bike about 5 times a weeks for 30 min will i start to lose weight? and if so how long will it take roughly for me to see results? also what parts of the body will it help and tone up?
Answer#1: Any sort of exercise done consistantly will give you results. Take a look at Lance Armstrong if you need proof!
Answer#2: I use a bike all the time and have found I don't really lose weight mainly because I eat too much. The best thing about using a bike for me is that it gives my heart and lungs a bit of exercise and also my legs have benefited. Your legs after a while will get you up most hills with a great feeling of achievement. Your legs will definitely tone up and your lung capacity should increase. Your brain always freshens up after a bike ride. You don't want to overdo it, just take it easy at first and build up.It's great for a nice bit of fresh air and you get more in touch with your surroundings instead of being cooped up in a car all the time.If you want to lose weight you need to consider your diet as well.If you have any physical ailments you should also consult with your doctor. One more tip, if you go on a regular route choose the safest quietest roads even if it takes a little longer. Busy main roads, car drivers and cyclists do not mix very well unless you are very assertive. Keep to cycle lanes and bike routes, maps of these can be found in your local cycle shops.P.S. Lance Armstrong is a super dedicated athlete and not at all typical of the average person using a bike.
Answer#3: it will help in future.
Answer#4: Exercise bike is a good way to lose weight, however very low, to moderate, resistance should be added, other wise you will start to build muscle in your thighs,You will have to cycle lots of miles, before it shows, although 30 miniutes a day, will do it, over a 3 to 3 month period. The important thing is activity = Energy = Calorie burn = Weight only if less calories are being consumed.Being a fitness fanatic for 38 years, I have to say the above post is wrong, A have you ever seen any one in the Tour De France with fat thighs, of course not, they do have muscle although, you are not training for the Tour de France, having to go up mountains. The more resistance you put on the effort to ride, will give you bigger muscles, what you really want is just fast cycling for 30 minute with no resistance. Any very fast exercise with light weight to moderate, will burn fat without getting big muscle, the faster you go the better for your lungs and overall cardiac system, interval riding is the best, that is to sprint until you can no more, then let your heart beat return to normal, then sprint again, this will give you good lungs and train all your leg muscles, however don't forget the warm up exercise and cool down exercise stretching. Tredmill you will burn calories more quickly, however they are different muscle groups exercised, than cycling, cycling takes the stress away from the pounding of weight on the kneecaps.. Yoga isn't good for losing weight, you must also cut down on carbohydrate foods, like rice, bread, to 40% fat 20% 40% protein, 6 meals a day, 3 main meals no bigger than palm of hand, not including fingers. and 3 snacks, if you can stick to the palm hand size I guarantee you will lose weight, drink vinegar to speed up metabolism
Answer#5: You will certainly see results (although maybe not totally the ones you want). You need to know that bikes will strengthen and enargen your thighs and calves (potentially)...so while that fat will turn to muscle, you may not lose as much as you want. I would recommend jogging on a treadmill--you'll see the weight come off in all kinds of places...although it will do the same for your legs...try some aerobics or yoga for full-body weight loss. Pilates are hell--avoid them.
Answer#6: -it will surely make u lose weight. -about 4-6 weeks?-ur legs and thighs maybe
Answer#7: it will help your body and mind.
