Question: Exercise Bike Opinions?
Question Description:
I am looking for a new exercise bike. My current one has magnetic resistance and the handles move. It is quite old and is starting to squeak. Nothing seems to fix it permanantly so I'm ready to toss it. Most of the bikes I've seen the handles don't move or it uses adjustable air resistance-the handles move but there is a fan. Any opinions? How much more do you get out of a bike that has moving handles?
Answer#1: i've had a schwinn airdyne for 15 years. still works as well as day one. the handles give as much as you put into them. take your feet off the pedals and just work your arms, or make an effort to use your arms while you pedal. it is an excellent choice. also have a diamondback elliptical which is more fun for me. 2hrs a day
Answer#2: boring unless you have a tv in front of it
Answer#3: I have a recumbent bike that is both very comfortable and gives me a better work out than a standard "riding" stationary bike. I have one that also has magnetic resistance. As for moving handles, I just use hand weights and that provides a better work out while riding and I can choose different movements during the work-out.
