Question: Exercise cycle and Treadmill ? Or Just Exercise bike?
Question Description:
I have an exercise bike , quite a good one I've also got a mountain bike . But I'm thinking of getting a treadmill. My aim is to improve overall fitness and lose about 4 stoneDr Frank , I'm more like 6 stones overweight. 4 stones was just 1st goal. I already cycle a lot but is does certainly get my heart rate up fast. I have voiced my concerns with my gp, he checked me out and said all is well. Should I hold back on the exercise?
Answer#1: It is more a personal taste matter. personally I would get a turbo trainer so I can use my regular bike indoors when I feel like it, and outdoors as it is more fun and a transportation solution. To improve your overall fitness you need to think about eating healthy, not only a diet. Reduce fatty foods and sugar, watch what you drink, avoid pastry white rice and white bread. All the stuff you know.To make sure you get a proper heart beat during exercise you could by a "pulsometer" or heart rate meter. Some are not expensive at all, and you can set them to help you exercise within a good heart rate that will benefit you without overdoing it. Just keep the good work up and in time you will lose the weight you need to lose.
Answer#2: Consider putting the £300-odd else where, get outside into the fresh air and run, yes you maybe overweight, but you'll gain alot of confidence from running outside, and it'll be far more enjoyable. I was about 14/15 stone when I first started running (5ft2 frame) I'm now 11 stone, a few more stones to get down to 8 stone though I'm seven stone lighter than a year ago. I cycle about 30 minutes a day, and run 40+ minutes.----Cancer Research, Race for Life 5k, 10 pence donation!http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/ourpath
Answer#3: exercise cycle & treadmill, works for me.
Answer#4: Best of luck to you. Treadmill will use more calories but take more effort. Watch you don't push your pulse rate too much if you are 4 stone overweight.
Answer#5: i wouldn't waste your money try walking more then keep upping your pace till you feel like jogging no money spent and fitness is increased
Answer#6: I go to a gym and a Cross Trainer is very good for burning calories and working out legs and bum. Also exercises arms.Treadmill is good for impact exercise.Bike is good at working out legs and burning off calories.:-)))
Answer#7: get a dog then you will have to walk it every night so there will be no excuse not to exercise, aslo you will be getting loads of fresh air
