Question: Can strength training be cardio at the same time if you have a high heartrate & sweating through your clothes?
Question Description:
I just did 30 minutes of strength training with a lot of exercises kind of fast, and my heart rate got up to 160 a minute, (18, 5'3, 116lbs), and I'm sweating through my shirt, can this be considered as cardio as well?
Answer#1: cardio is any activity which elevates the resting heart rate, however i would not soley depend upon strength training for the cardio partion of my workout. I find that a balance of some form of traditional cardio(ie. running, biking, sports) as well as strength training is best to keep in shape and drop weight (if thats what your trying to do).
Answer#2: Any kind of activity that gets your heart rate at it's target zone is considered cardio. Since we're about the same age, anything at and above 160 is considered cardio-aerobic.
Answer#3: eny things cardio
