Question: If i am using a stepping machine?

Question Description:
to get toned, how many steps a day do I need to do?I am 14lbs overweight and have got slaclk about exercise this last year.

Answer#1: 30 minutes and then switch to another machine if you are in the gym, i.e. elliptical and do another 30 minutes. They all target different muscle groups. Doing it this way, you will not over develop one area and not the other and you will tone evenly. Keep in mind, these machines build muscle and do much more than just tone. They are powerful machines and while you may burn calories, you will build muscle and thus may not lose weight if that is your intention. Very good cardio though.

Answer#2: I would say to count the minutes, not the steps. Shoot for 25-30 minutes a session.

Answer#3: What sort of stepping machine are you using? Are you using an actual stairclimber or something along those lines?

Answer#4: a stepping machine will give you a good cardio workout and tone your legs and butt to some extent but not past a certain point. once your muscles have become accustomed to the load (about 2 wks or so) they will not tone any further. you will need to add some weight training exercises to take it to the next level. so by all means do the stepper to begin cardio training and introduce your muscles to the load, but add in weight training to finish the process of getting super tight thighs and butt.

Answer#5: Not actually the amount of steps, but the amount of burn you partake. A slow burn will shed fat and faster burn will lose tone up and gain weight. You have to be careful how you choose to tone up or lose fat.If you build up muscle you will be gaining weight and at the same time tone up..Once you get where you want to be than gradually just slow down and keep what you have so that you don;t put on more muscle and stay toned up:)

Answer#6: you may want to include your weight and body type in your question. that will give people an idea of what to respond

Answer#7: 10,000

Answer#8: depends how fat u are....
