Question: Cardio question?

Question Description:
I know I need to do cardio for at least 30 minutes. I have a stair stepping machine which is convient for me because I have an 11 month old. But is doing mainly this type of cardio going to make my thighs huge? I usually do this 5-6 days a week for 35-45 minutes. Sometimes I will run. But the main thing is the stepper. I walk my son everyday in his stroller for about 30minutes also at medium pace.

Answer#1: Well, I have to disagree... Stair steppers certainly can give you larger thighs and buttocks! It depends on how intense a workout setting you use. Research has shown even modest amounts of excersize (like walking) are very beneficial. The important thing is that you keep active while your baby is little, which it sounds like you are doing. (Keep it up!) This is good for your baby as well as for you, it will go a long way towards a healthy lifestyle for him as he gets older as he will learn that this is the routine!

Answer#2: no building the muscle (making them huge) would be from weight lifting. Cardio burns fat by raising the heartrate toning the muscle burning calories ect. Just stay away from heavy squating with barbells and dumbbell lunges or leg extentions
