Question: Whey protein screws my face over.. (acne)?
Question Description:
I use to work out all the time. Take the whey protein. I had acne and at the time didn't seem to care.Anyhow, I got off the whey protein and went on with my life. I had no acne during this time.Just 3 days ago I began to get into building my body again. I started taking the whey.As soon as I did my face broke out. It's not that bad, but it's damn annoying.Has anyone else had this problem with whey protein?I just find this very frustrating because I like having clear skin and I like to workout to make gains. It seems that I can't do both. I feel like I only have these choices.1) I can have clear skin and just workout without taking the whey which serves little purpose since I am trying to make gains.2) I can have messed skin and make gains while taking whey. When I am on whey I make gains so quick, but get messed over on my face. When I am not on it I don't make gains at all. This is so frustrating. Anyone else have this issue?Haha well that could be it then... considering I bought it for 11.00$ US Dollars...If this "cheap protein" is the issue how do you think it causes acne? What type of protein do you use and recommend?lol how much water you want me to drink? I am well at 1 and 1/2 gallons a day already...
Answer#1: During your time away from the whey protein - were you still working out? If not, then it could be the sweat that is clogging your pores and irritating it.If you were still working out, I would suggest switching proteins and see if it still does that or switching to an oral supplements or muscle milk type product. You can still make gains without using the protein- just is not as fast. Also your eating habits can make a huge difference. Have protein shakes after working out can help and also keep a lot of fish and chicken. You will notice the difference.Good Luck
Answer#2: I believe you should drink more water, i also take whey protein, and found that if your working out as well to drink more water so it keeps the poores unclogged with toxins etc.
Answer#3: I take whey protein daily, and so does my brother and we don't have any acne, well a few blemishes here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. You should talk to your dermatologist.Where did you get the whey protein product? if it's the cheap stuff, then that might be the reason.
