Question: Soy Protein Powder?
Question Description:
Ive heard so many bad rumors about soy protein on health sites but I still dont really understand whats wrong with it. Do you guys know why its considered not good?
Answer#1: Plant proteins are incomplete, meaning they lack certian amino acids which are essential for tissue buildup. If you insist on being vegan and cannot get a complete protein, take the soy with an amino acid supplement. Other than that, it's pretty useless.
Answer#2: There are many proteins out there that are much better sources, like Whey Isolate. Soy contains estrogen precursors and isoflavones, which negatively affect people with thyroid conditions.
