I want to get stronger/buff, well, build lean muscle masswhat kind of protein shake should i drink after i work out? also should i drink the days i dont work out (i work out every other day so if i worked out monday, can i drink on tues?)Also, is it true Soy protein is for women only? Will i grow man boobs? I've been drinkin soy protein for few months but hasnt done muchSo, whey or soy for me? Thanks!! PS Im a guy
Answer#1: soy protein is proteins from vegetables and whey protein is proteins from meats! so i guessing you need whey! take one b4 and one after working out but make sure to over work your muscles so they can rip and grow bigger
Answer#2: If you are male, stay away from soy products.Soy is a psuedoestrogen, it mimics estrogen in the body.
Answer#3: © Soy contains phytoestrogen (before I read in some men's magazines that they contain isoflavone/ flavonoids that mimic estrogen, i guess they renamed it to be more apt.) These are not entirely so bad as protein for men, though still not the best.Estrogen counters the effects of testosterone. And men with estrogen levels higher than the normal will manifest feminine physical attributes (like fat redistribution, weaker muscle strength and ... development of breast.) Though I believe that the ingestion of soy protein contributes still minimal of the estrogen-like hormone. Growth of moobs (man-boobs, lol) might not be exhibited by those drinking soy protein for a short while.Whey is better for guys. (Even casein, the milk protein, is okay. Some protein products combine several of these protein.)I can also suggest that you try this: eat 6-8 egg whites a day, see if you will not beef up. (Do not include all the egg yolks in your diet - they are high in cholesterol.) Many muscle models claim that they do have that diet. After all that's been said, soy is not dangerous for men. It is advantageous for women. But I suggest you bulk up with whey, if given the choice.Edit: forgot to tell you, some of these protein products have sizable fat content. Thus do drink these before/after work out. Egg whites on the other hand have no fat/ no cholesterol.Enjoy beefing up!
Answer#4: Drink a cup of soy milk mixed with Dry skim milk after to help retain muscles built during work out
