Question: Is soy protein as effective as whey protein for muscle gains?
Question Description:
I've read around the internet and it's been pretty much conclusive by the experts that whey is much more effective, but I've made really nice gains when using soy isolate protein.(The key is the soy ISOLATE instead of regular soy protein, which supposedly increases estogen levels.)Am I right? Cause it's much cheaper and it seems to work.I've never tried whey because I am concerned about the cholesterol it contains (soy has none).I need help people.
Answer#1: Whey protein is a far superior muscle builder than soy protein.Whey is more bio available (gets to your muscles quicker) buy a whey isolate as opposed to a whey concentrate. Isolate is a more refined.Whey isolate contains no cholesterol so that should allay your concerns. If you take whey isolate its best taken post workout. For an all purpose protein get a blend of whey isolate and caseinate. The latter is a slower digesting milk protein. This blend is good to take in the AM or even better prior to bed.Check out www. proteinfactory.com they have a great staff and will answer all your questions via Email quickly.Good luck with your training.
Answer#2: nope.... whey protien is the fastes digestable supplement. soy is third, right after cassien protien(milk) then of course in the lead thers whey =)
Answer#3: in fact soy contains more protein than most lean meats..not to mention alot less fats (doesnt taste as good, its why i personally prefer meat)ive seen many buff vegetarians.. if you really want to build muscles, eat lean meat and soy; the best of the best!
