Question: question about energy drink during pregnancy?
Question Description:
I am 33 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I have this great all natural energy drink, its called XS energy drink and I know they say it is a big no no during pregnancy, but it has 0 calories, no caffeine, 0 sugars, the ingredients are 30mg potassium, 1.5 gm protein, 200% vitamin c, 100% vitamin b3 and b5, 300% vitamin b6, 100% folic acid and believe it or not 4900% of vitamin b12, tis where they get the energy from. do you think this is bad for me and baby, or should I be safe to drink it?
Answer#1: Hi there!I love XS, and did drink it when I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter last year. In fact, it was the only drink I could keep down during the 1st 3 months of pregnancy (would sip a can during the day).Anyway, if you are going to drink XS, I suggest limiting yourself to one can a day, and it might be best to spread it over a few hours, instead of in one go.In any case, the caffeine amount is the same as drinking a 600ml bottle of coke, and I've seen plenty of pregnant women down a bottle! :)All the best with the end of your pregnancy... how exciting! :)
Answer#2: It has 49times the recommended daily intake of b12, that doesn't seem like a great plan.
Answer#3: Yeah I know XS its a great product, but just to be on the safe side, I wouldn't suggest it.
Answer#4: Extremely BAD choice for a drink. All those drinks raise your blood-pressure and make your heart start racing. Make an app't. with your doctor. Ask for his professional advice.
Answer#5: if i were you, i'd stay away. even though there is no caffeine, you still can overdose your baby with vitamins he/she don't need. talk with your doctor to see if this is okay. until then i'd stay away
Answer#6: Call your OB's office and ask a nurse. They expect all those types of questions. Sometimes an excess of certain vitamins can be toxic to the baby so don't drink it without your doc's approval.
Answer#7: on the can if it says don't drink while pregnant you probally shouldn't.
Answer#8: I think it has way too many vitamins in it since you are already taking a prenatal. Never assume that something is okay for baby, obviously you thought something might be wrong with it because you decided to ask about it.
Answer#9: I would ask my doctor first.
Answer#10: I don't know, some things are bad for baby in higher concentrations....better ask you doc.
Answer#11: i woulednt just in case,it may have taurine in it
