Question: Bodybuilding science?
Question Description:
I believe that everybody wants to be knowlegable about bodybuilding will be frustrated because of so many contradicting methods and approaches about training and diet. I need to know if there is any certified source which researches bodybuilding as a science, not as viewpoints?
Answer#1: Read Dr. Coligan's series, Optimum Sports Nutrition.
Answer#2: check out menshealth.com
Answer#3: every body is different so everybody is effected by different programs. That is why there are so many different variations of workouts.
Answer#4: To be honest I don't know if there are any certified sources. I think the only thing you can really do is read up on the subject like crazy. After doing that set up some goals and start using different principles by trial and error. Start with one and stick with it for 8 weeks or so then try a different routine. Document what works for you and what doesn't. Since everyone is different you won't be following the exact same workout routine/diet as your buddy. It's getting to know what works for you and it may take some time. You can start with a general workout routine/diet and slowly modify it to tailor your needs. Subscribe to some bodybuilding mags ( they usually have a samples of workout routine/diets). Continue reading them so that they give you new ideas on what may work for you. I can understand why it may seem that there are so many contradicting methods but these are just a reflection of the many different ways that different people have been successful at reaching their goals. Not every one has the same physical chemistry and just as everyone is unique your routine will be too.
