Question #3: Curious about my NordicTrack online purchase.?
I purchased a treadmill off of nordictrack.com
last week. Supposedly my order was shipped on
Friday, Friday is about to come again and my
shipping information isn't yet available. My
treadmill is being shipped through Old Dominion
Freight Line and they tell me that it only takes
24 hours before shipping information is available
online or over the phone. NordicTrack tells me it
takes 3-5 business days, which is ludicrous. Has
anyone placed a large order via NordicTrack's
website? How long did it take? I would really
hate to get .38 hott on NordicTrack.
Answer: I once bought a Nordic Track. Got it home and a
piece was missing. Called the store; they said it
would be shipped. A week later, no piece. Called
the store; they said it had not been shipped yet
and oops, they would ship it within a week. A
week later, no piece. Took the Nordic Track back
to the store, said a few unpleasant things (not
like me at all!!), and walked out. A salesperson
followed me to my vehicle with a new (and
complete) Nordic Track.Now I have a Proform
Treadmill. I sold the Nordic Track for $50. To
paraphrase Mark Twain, I should have taken it out
and shot it.

Question #5: Is the NordicTrack AudioStrider 600 Elliptical worth purchasing?
Is this machine worth buying used for about $350?
Answer: In my opinion, using the money to buy a gym
membership will get MUCH better results than
purchasing one piece of home gym equipment. For
$350 you could be a member of a gym for about a
year, depending on what gym you go to and what
deal you get. At a gym you have access to several
different kinds of cardio equipment, including
treadmills, elliptical machines, stair climbers,
rowers, stationary bikes, and more. You also get
access to all the different weight training
equipment. Many gyms even feature classes to keep
you in shape...and entertained. If you spend the
$350 on just one piece of machinery, you're not
going to get the best workout you can. Your body
is going to get bored with doing the same exercise
again and again, and it will lose it's
effectiveness after just a few months. Also, you
may get bored with just one piece of machinery to
work with. And, if there's ever a problem or it
breaks down, you'll have to pay for repairs. Some
people like working out at home because they don't
like working out in front of other people, they
don't have to drive to the gym, they don't like
the crowds. If this is the case, you don't have
to go to a popular 24hour fitness or golds gym.
Many communities have smaller private gyms that
offer similar variety, with smaller and less
crowded facilities. If you still wish to purchase
your elliptical machine, I recommend buying it
from a reputable store in your area. This way,
you won't have to pay for shipping if you're
purchasing it from the Internet. Also, if there
is a problem or breakdown, you can go directly to
the store and argue for free (or discounted)
maintenance in person. Also, if buying it new
from a store, it may come with a warranty.
Definitely only buy it if it has a warranty.
Don't buy it used or "as is" from a
private seller. If something it's wrong with it,
then you have to pay for it out of your pocket.
Good luck with your decision and I hope everything
works out for you, no matter what you decide to
do. :)

Question #7: Bowflex Challenge? I need to lose 15-20 lbs..?
I would like to lose the weight that I have gained
over the past 6 months..I really hate it! I've
been working out at home for the past 2 weeks
(using the Bowflex and NordicTrack) I never use to
excersize so its hard for me to find motivation to
do it 4-5 times a week.I want to know, has anyone
used either of these things? How much did you
lose? Any other tips are welcome. Also, I am not
eating meat anymore (I hardly did any way) Im

of salmon or tilapia (wild not farm raised) and
for protien I LOVE PEANUTBUTTER..haha. So any one
who has had success in losing like 15 lbs your
feedback is wanted! THXWow..good answer, and no I
dont drink, if I do its like a glass of wine when
I'm feeling sick or with dinner(like once every
few mos)
Answer: Peanut butter is really not that bad for you. And
if you need some peanut butter in order to eat the
celery--go for it. Especially if you are snacking
on that to replace what you used to snack on
between meals. My Jiff peanut butter has 190
calories per 2 tbsp which for me is about 4 celery
stalks. But I'm getting the benefits of celery.
And for getting your metabolism up and eatting
something every 3 hours, that is a proper amount
of calories to be adding. Often recommended
protein bars have around 200 as well.I love my
eliptical which is somewhat like a Nordic Track.
My husband set up his big screen tv on the wall
right across from the Nordic Track. I come home
from work everyday and watch Dr Phil. Thats my
thing--I love him. So I use the eliptical while
watching it the whole time. When it's over thats
about 1 hr cardio. The perfect amount of
time--and the time that I would have been sitting
in front of that tv anyway. So as far as
budgeting my day--working out didn't have to be
"budgeted" since that is Dr Phil time.
That was how I manged to have the motivation to do
it 4-5 times a week. When it was in the other
room, not near a tv--I only used it during the
commercial breaks. Not nearly as effective for
cardio!!Another suggestion is put on your favorite
cd and jam out. It is so energizing. My friends
often read the newspaper while on the
stairstepper. As far as fish (occasional salmon),
there is nothing wrong wtih salmon. Just make
sure you are eatting a well-balanced meal--but
there is nothing bad for you about eatting fish.
But on feedback--do you drink? Alcohol has tons
of calories. Quit drinking alcohol for 4 weeks
and it will help with 5-8 of those lbs. Also, if
possible limit your caffeine intake. Soda has a
lot of unnecessary calories.

Question #10: What elliptical trainer should I buy?
I want to buy an elliptical trainer but can't make
up my mind between these two:- Proform 690 HR-
NordicTrack CXT 1400Any advice?
Answer: Precor changed the fitness and exercise world when
they introduced the Elliptical cross trainer back
in 1995. Nowadays Elliptical Trainers are as
common in gyms as treadmills. The benefits of
Elliptical trainers are huge, they provide a total
impact-free body workout, a weight bearing
activity that raises the heart rate more
efficiently than any other piece of exercise
equipment.Weight bearing exercise such as running
is more effective at burning calories than
non-weight bearing exercise such as cycling. The
problem with running is that it places an
excessive amount of stress on the back and joints.
An elliptical motion provides the weight bearing
element whilst maintaining an impact-free
movement. Here's what we believe you should look
for when purchasing an Elliptical
Trainer:StabilityMake sure the unit is stable and
its motion is fluid and quiet. An Elliptical
Trainer should never feel wobbly or jerky; some
cheap machines have been reported to
"walk" across the floor during use.
Pedal comfortThe pedals should be comfortable,
with a non-slip design. They should also provide a
natural stance, meaning they aren't too wide or
narrow. Handle bar comfortCheck the comfort of the
handlebars, if the machine has them. Handlebars
should be comfortably placed so you don't bump
into them, and should also move back and forth
smoothly. Preprogrammed coursesLook for an
Elliptical Trainer with both programmed and manual
courses, as well as dual-direction movement
(forward and backward) to accommodate your
changing workout needs. Resistance Most machines
offer varied resistance; make sure this is easy to
adjust (either electronically or manually). Most
experts prefer machines with an elevated incline,
while others say increasing resistance and speed
is just as effective. DisplayMake sure the display
is easy to read and provides the information
you're looking for. Most displays show speed, time
and distance, but you may also want to see
calories exerted, calories per hour, degree of
incline or heart rate. Space If you're buying an
Elliptical Trainer for a tight space, look for a
machine that folds up or has wheels for easy
transportation.
