Question #11: Bowflex Equivalent to Free Weight?
I have a conditioning test for football on
Tuesday, and I went to my uncle's house today to
see what I could lift on the Bowflex he has. Could
somebody tell me the equivalent from Bowflex to
free weight or visa versa?
Answer: its hard to determine because free weight requires
diff stabalizers. it also depends on the type of
excersise you were attempting.Generally,
freeweight is more difficult to handle because of
the dynamic stabalizers and balancing involved.I
dont think there is a corolation between the two
because they are too different.I'd estimate that
it adds [up to] 30 lbs [maybe more or less
depending of the lifter] to a bench press.

Question #12: I am looking to buy a Bowflex soon and I was wondering if it worth it?
I've been researching and wondering if getting a
Bowflex extreme SE is worth it or not. I am highly
motivated to get in shape and be healthier. My
main goal is to lower my fat percentage and tone
up. I am thinking more swimmers build rather then
bodybuilder big. I will supplement the bowflex
with other cardio activities. I was wondering if
the bowflex will do the trick? Any bad things
people would like to share with me about the
machine? Can it give me results that I could get
at the gym?
Answer: id say yes it is worth it

Question #14: Which Multigym / Home Gym - Bowflex Resistance Or One With Weights?
Im looking to build muscle (not huge muscles)
quickly and im looking Bowflex sport or the York
G560. Bowflex uses resistance rods where as the
York uses weights. I know free weighst get the
best results but i need to start with actually
bulidng any muscle first. What will give me the
best results the bowflex with resistance or the
york with weights?.
Answer: Consult a trainer.Eat only when hungry and not
more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water
in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables
and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each
morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to
generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these
signals.Take light exercises and brisk walks
regularly preferably twice a day.U will achieve
what u have not even dreamt and that too in a
reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Question #15: Bowflex Assembly Hell?
I bought the Bowflex Ultimate 2 and am having a
little difficulty assembling the $2,500 piece of
garbage. Two part question:1) Can I hire someone
to put it together for me and if so where do I
look for said individual? I tried looking in the
yellow pages under Freelance Assembly Guys That
Specialize In Putting Together Poorly Made Junk,
but there was only one entry under this listing
and the guy only spoke Chinese.2)(Bowflex Ultimate
2 Owners Only) I'm specifically having trouble on
Step 3-2. I'm supposed to slide the flanges over
the bushings. But there is absolutely no space
for the flanges to go over the bushings. So the
flanges just slam into the bushings.
Answer: Haha - sorry, I know this must not be funny for
you, but - your question makes me laugh. Nice
writing.Do you know any engineers? Or kids who
are engineering majors? They'd probably do it for
free... it's the kind of puzzle they like, and
they're generally good at it. Good luck with your
machine -

Question #16: bowflex for weight loss?
I am considering buying a bowflex for the purpose
of weight loss. It seemed the last time I had a
large weight loss (2 years ago) I was really
ripping it off by strength training. I know that
aerobic exercise burns calories, but I want to
burn calories when I am at rest, as well .. i.e.,
I want to build muscle. Is this a good way to
start?
Answer: I think it's a great way to start. But don't use
Bowflex only. While using Bowflex, you can also
lift weights (not at the same time, of course) or
bench press. I know this may sound weird for a
guy, but try aerobics.

Question #18: Bowflex SelectTech 220: not heavy enough?
I've though long and hard about purchasing
adjustable dumbbells, specifically from the
Bowflex brand because they seem like the best. But
the price has me wondering if I want to buy the
dumbbells that only go up to 20 lbs ($150)
compared to the ones that go up to 52 lbs ($350).I
want to know from the perspective of someone who
lifts weights, if the 20 lbs will become too light
for me. I want to get very toned but not too
extreme and I also want to save me a lot of money.
Is 20 lbs even light?
Answer: get the ones that go up to 52 because once u get
used to the 20 lb ones, ur gonna have to get the
52 and waste more money so u might as well just
get it now since its adjustable anyway!

Question #19: Bowflex or swimming pool?
My family and I cant decide on which of the two to
get. Its hard to decide! Which one will help me
lose weight faster, and if you've used bowflex
what kind of results did you see in how long?
Answer: A swimming pool will help you lose weight faster
because it has more cardiovascular movements. If
you are looking to try and tone your muscles then
you may look at a Bowflex. I will tell you from my
parent's experience is that they spent $1900 on a
top of the line Bowflex and used it off and on for
about a year. After that time it just sat in the
garage until I told them I wanted to take it down
to put a pull table in it's place. They gladly
agreed to get rid of it. I think the benefits of
having a pool are you having ready access to
exercising and you also have a reason to sit
outside all summer long working on a beautiful
tan.

Question #20: Bowflex???
I was just wondering if anyone has used the
bowflex and did you like it. Please let me know
your results also. I'm also dieting with weight
watchers and walking but I need to add something
else.
Answer: I have had a Bowflex for a couple of years now and
it's just like EVERY other piece of home fitness
equipment out there. It's as good as the use it
gets. You can work out by lifting furniture and
walking around your home and you'll gain something
just from that.I think it's great, the only thing
I wish I had done was get the one where you don't
need to change the attachments from arms to legs
to shoulders, etc.
