Question #43: Bowflex Strength Training question...?
Ok, I have a Bowflex sport, and I've been making my own workouts, but I don't feel that everything is working right..it doesn't feel like I'm getting a good workout.Like bicep curls for example, I am at 40 pounds of resistance and am doing 30 reps of them, and I haven't noticed any serious change in my bicep sizes...I'm only 15, but I want to have nice arms :) Someone help!!! lol

Answer: Dood.. at 15 your muscles are still developing. You are not gonna look like Hulk Hogan no matter how much you use that thing.

Question #44: I just purchased a Bowflex Sport,I want to lose at least 20 lbs and was wondering When should I use my Bowflex
I was told I should lose the weight Before because the bowflex is to tone up your body AFTER you lose the weight.is this true I wonder.Right know what I am doing is a treadmill 1 mile then I go to the bowflex for 30 minutes.I do this 2 times a day.I just started the bowflex 3 days ago and been using the treadmill for 4weeks.

Answer: If you wait till you lose weight then it will be so much harder to tone up. You are to use the bow flex before during & after the weight loss so that you can mantain your hard work. You will have alot of loose hanging skin if you wait till after you lose the weight. Congratulations on getting the bowflex & on wanting to better your health & appearance !!!

Question #45: Bowflex workouts for Women?
I recently purchased a used Bowflex and I am wondering if anyone can point me to workouts that I could be doing. I'm a tall woman, 30 years old, BMI is normal, but need to work on getting back muscle tone and a tighter figure. My middle area holds my extra weight. Links to websites with photos are even better, but general lists of workout exercises are great too. THANKS!!I'm looking for specific exercises with reps...a full plan please...

Answer: In general, women do the same exercises as men. Unless you are taking testosterone injections or are unusually butch, you won't have to worry about looking pumped up, no matter how many exercises you do. You may want to start out slowly with the larger muscles groups (lat pulldown, chest fly, leg press, abs crunch), paying attention to form and do some cardio to improve your general fitness before starting on the smaller muscle groups. Doing cardio in conjunction with your abdominal exercises is essential for eliminating your middle section jello shakey shakey. Your Bowflex manual should have a list of specific exercises your machine can do. If you don't have the manual it should be on the website.Later that day ...The Bowflex website lists specific exercises. Do them all. Haha!
http://www.bowflex.com/why/YStrength_Ex.aspThey are all standard exercises any basic book will show you how to do them, e.g. Weight Training for Dummies.Normally you would do between 4 and 12 reps. Lower reps with high weight is better for strength training, Higher reps with less weight for endurance training or 8 reps if you are normal or wishy washy.

Question #46: i just ordered a bowflex--what do you think?
this is the one i got:
http://www.bowflex.com/mMachineDetail.asp?produc tID=6600014&productName=Xtreme%26%23153%3B+2&a mp;linkID=6i've been thinking about it for awhile(over a couple of years) and decided to take the plunge, since i have a little extra money to spend. i tried out my friend's bowflex last night, and it really sealed the deal.i just thought i'd get some other opinions on this...so, what do you think of bowflex? yay or nay?

Answer: thats a personal choice in terms of likes and dislikes. I would say since you ordered it, really use it, get your money's worth otherwise it will be just money down the drain.

Question #47: does bowflex work as good as a bench press? and does it give good workout for other muscels too?
i have a busy schedual so i dont have time to go to the gym, anyways im just asking if anyone know's how effective the bowflex is at working out chest arms and back, i cant get a regualr bench press at home because i have no one to spot me, does any one know of any other machines that are effective? Thanks for any answeres

Answer: The Bow Flex is a good machine because it uses cable style resistance, which makes the muscles and joints balance and stabilize the weight. The only problem is that it is very expensive and unnecessary if you were to use dumbbells or a power cage instead. You may really enjoy a Bow flex, but for the same amount of money you could stock a room full of equipment using barbells, dumbbells, benches and exercise balls. If money is no option get a bow flex and add other equipment to keep your interest.

Question #48: Bowflex work outs.?
I bought a Bowflex machine and have used it off and on. I have been attempting to create a workout program that would allow me to work out for about 15 minutes a session, twice a day and be able to work out different muscle groups. But I have been unsuccessful in creating a workout program. Anyone have suggestions or point me to a site that would help me?

Answer: sell your machine and go eat some bon bons

Question #49: bowflex owners?
can a bowflex make me taller? (im 14)and can the "bowflex sport" work my abs?cons and pros of bowflex please

Answer: The only thing to make you taller is growth hormones. I know a girl who has taken them perscribed by her doctor. Her mother gives her a shot (I believe daily) and its definitely worked over time. There are charts that show height averages by age. A doctor probably would require you to be far from average for your age. On the site below, eight users rate Bowflex sport PROS & CONS.

Question #50: Bowflex or free weights, which is better? Any bowflex users out there?
I am intrigued by the bowflex but I don't know if it is worth all of the money, plus I have heard that there have been a few incidents where people have been injured when the bow breaks. I wish you could try before you buy.Serious answers only please.

Answer: I used the crossbow, which is very similiar to the bowflex...I tried the bowflex and it's more or less the same thing, i liked the crossbow a little better because you can change the resistance quicker and go to different exercises faster if you want to do a bunch of reps and go to each exercise without a break (can't think of the type of workout that is off for some reason at the moment)...ANYWAYS...as far as quality goes, i think the bowflex is top notch, you can't go wrong and it's definitely a good workout...free weights will give you more of bulky muscles, bowflex will give you more lean muscle....i don't know where you're from, but there is a place called Dicks Sporting goods that has a bowflex on display where you can try it...i think it would be worth your investment to get a bowflex
