Question #11: Gym members, the Nautilus Treadclimber, do you exercise on it and if so what do you think of it?
My gym has it on trial but I've not had the chance
to have a go on it yet. It looks different.
Answer: Hate it. Our gym has 3 and they stand unused.
Only one woman uses it and she's a maniac anyway.

Question #12: Is it possible for a guy to develop a ripped muscular build without going to a gym?
I'm wondering if this is possible, and if so, what
at-home exercises can be done? Just a note: there
are no benches or Nautilus machines available.
It'd save me considerable monthly fees on top of
gasoline fill ups. Thanks. If you could post
titles of books and/or websites which list info
re: the above, that'd be great. Thanks guys. I'm
not looking to bulk up at this time, but to lean
down and get cut. Addit'l question: would Pilates
help, too? I haven't see too many guys endorse
that, but I know Danny Glover has in one of those
informercials.
Answer: of course you can. look at gymnists. many of the
exercises they do involve just their body weight.
and you can always be resourceful and use cans,
phone books, rocks, etc as weights.

Question #14: Does the Curves workout do as much for building bone density as a gym workout with Nautilus or Cybex machines?
I need to increase my bone density, what is the
best workout ?
Answer: To build bone density you need to do
weight-lifting types of exercises. If you are able
to do any weight-bearing kinds of exercises at
Curves, then it's fine - and you wouldn't need the
more expensive gyms.Doing short series of
flexibility exercises and
"muscle-building" types don't give you
the same bone density building as the
weight-bearing types of exercises do.Don't forget
to take in calcium and Vitamin D (short periods of
real sunlight) to make everything work really
well!

Question #15: Why have I gained 5 pounds, when i go to the gym 3 times a week and eat relatively the same as before?
Around february of last year i began eating more
responsibly, cutting out major calorie killers
like cosmic brownies, hostess cupcakes, and
poptarts. By being more aware of what i was eating
i lost 30 pounds by the end of the summer. For a
little more than a month (september and some of
october) i managed to only gain 3 pounds without
being so strict on my diet.I decided to begin to
exercise, for about a month now i have been going
to the gym 3 times a week, running for 20-30
minutes and doing a 30 minute nautilus circuitI
have now gained 5 more poundswill i keep gaining
or will i eventually end up loosing weightmy bmi
has now shifted from healthy to riskyis the gym
not for me?
Answer: your body is going through a change by you going
to the gym. your are probably gaining weight
because you could be reatining water. a natural
reaction to the body when put under different
types of change.also you could now be gaining
muscle mass.if you really serious about losing
weight you should see your doctor. your body
could be crying for help.

Question #17: Have you ever trained on Nautilus gym products before?(treadmills, bikes, elipticals or weight stacks)?
How do you rate Nautilus against other brands? The
gym i'm thinking of joining has Nautilus but i
don't know much about them.
Answer: Nautilus is fine to workout on, but they are not
the most durable. But since you aren't buying it,
they are fine to workout on. Icarian is much more
durable, and so is Flex. Personally speaking,
free weights give you the best workout though.
For treadmills, I do like the Nautilus
treadclimber. Great workout without hurting the
knees. For eliptical trainers, PRECOR rocks. But
again, if you are not buying them for yourself,
Nautilus will give you a good workout.
