Questions & Answers about Eliptical
Question #41: I am 6 weeks pregnant. I dont want to gain weight, Is it ok if i walk 3 miles /hr and do eliptical for 15 min.
i want to go to gym and do walking in thread mill
and eliptical everyday.Iam not doing any weight or
anything ? is it ok?Thanks for all your answers. i
should have mentioned i dont want to gain unwanted
weight, instead of saying i dont want to gain
weight at all. I luv my baby to death. I consider
my pregency as a wonderful gift from God. I want
to have a healthy pregency and healthy baby that
was the whole point in that. pl let me know wat
are the other things for things (food, etc). thank
again
Answer: You are going to gain weight cos you are pregnant.
It is normal. It isn't a free card to eat all
the junk under the sun, u can eat healthy and all
you will gain is baby weight which is lost easy
after baby is born.As for exercise - don't do
anything that you are not already doing. Now is
not the time to start a new fitness regime. If
you are a fit and sctive person then continue but
don't start anything right now - ask your Dr.A
walk at that pace is just right, but get out in
the fresh air if you can cos then it will be even
better for baby!

Question #43: Eliptical machine?
I cant afford a personal trainer (I can barely
afford a gym membership at all). I got on the
eliptical machine last night for about 20 mins
(all i could take at the time, this time should
increase as i get used to it), and i notice that
it mainly worked out my legs. It has the hand-bars
but all i did with that is hold onto them and i'm
not sure that I was doing it right at all. What is
the proper way to use the eliptical machine and
how effective is it in with cardio training?Spin:
My skin tone is exactly how i want it.
Answer: I'd work on your tan first honey

Question #44: losing weight without a treadmill/eliptical/bike/etc and without jogging.?
I'm looking to slim down a little before football
starts. I know cardio is the best way to lose
weight and increase endurance (for me, running
longer w/out tiring out). Problem is.. I don't
have a treadmill, eliptical, etc to do cardio in
my house, and I live in the kind of neighborhood
where it wouldn't be advisable to go running. So my
question is, what kind of exercises can I do to
slim down and increase my running endurance?
Currently I just lift for upper torso and such,
because all I have is a bench, but I need to get
my running a lil better.Any suggestions? Thanks
Answer: ur better off dieting then, cut down the carbs and
calories.hydroxycut if all fails, but dont be a
sissy just run. if ur talkin bout livin in the
hood when i ever i saw people run by i could care,
ud be surprised how many people respect people who
actually have will power and motivation to run,
just if u run in a bad neighborhood... dont
stop... haha thats motivation enuff

Question #45: eliptical machine question?
Is doing 60 minutes straight on an eliptical
miachine the same as doing 2 30 minute sessions?
Would the calories lost be different?
Answer: Almost same stuff.Except.There is a margin. You
have to get in 'the zone' where your heartbeat is
optimal. If you do 60 minutes you do about 5
minutes to get there and 5 to get down. Equals 50
minutes hard labor.30 minutes you do the same
except for 1 cool-down I would guess but still 5
minutes extra for getting your heartrate back up.
Equals 45 minutes hard labor. These 5 minutes are
not lost. You probably would take more rests if
you did it all in a 60 minutes program. If you CAN
do 60 minutes full force so to speak, 60 minutes
are better for you as you maximize your effort.
That's all. Until then two times 30 is better.

Question #46: Anyone whos used bowflex treadclimber, is it worth the money, is it better than a regular treadmill/eliptical?
Im looking into purchasing a treadclimber, and I
have read some reviews that said that it was too
expensive for what it is worth, and that it only
goes up to 4 mph, you aren't able to expand your
legs as far, etc. For those who own one, please
let me know if I should buy one, and is it really
better than any other treadmill/eliptical out
there, and if not, what would you recommend.
Serious answers only please. Thanks!
Answer: I've used a treadclimber before, and I like it
better than the elliptical, but not better than a
treadmill. The good thing about the treadclimber
is that it burns almost the same amount of
calories as jogging. It is easier than both
running and the elliptical. I think it is great
for people who can't run and do not like the
elliptical. If you haven't been on one, it feels
like you are walking on sand dunes. Everyone that
I know who has tried them, likes them. It is a
matter of what you like versus what is better
because ultimately if you don't like to do what is
"best", then you won't do it which will
not make you successful in achieving whatever goal
you have set. I suggest you try one before you
buy. Many large gyms have them, so check out your
local gym, and good luck!

Question #48: Does the eliptical machine really give you a good workout?
i break a sweat, but whenever i use it i feel like
it is so much easier than running, but maybe that
is just because it is very low impact. also, the
calorie counters on eliptical machine are VERY
off. have any of you succesfully lost weight using
mainly the eliptical machine?(i use it with the
moving arm things at a decent speed and
resistance)
Answer: A lot of girls with eating disorders love them.
That sounds weird but yeah...that's the only
source I have on that.

Question #49: Is the Eliptical exercise machine safe to use if I have plantar fasciitis (foot problem)? Any thoughts?
I presently use a treadmill but found that my feet
still hurt. The eliptical machine seemed like a
good alternative, less stress in the long run on
my feet and other joints (as I age).
Answer: Yes I would think it's safe because of the less
stress that's on the joints and feet. I enjoy the
elptical over the treadmill

I am trying to do more cardio with summer coming

have very bad knees - is it just as effective to
use thos eliptical machines (where you swing your
arms back and forth and your legs kind of
glide?...)

do, you should go with the eliptical machine- I
use the one w/o moving the arms..but it just
