Im young and can't lift all that heavy stuff, but
i'd like to know if "curling" with a

it will define my biceps) If i can lose weight,
would it compare to say running on a precore /

Question #14: Need help on science project to turn on light switch in at least 5 steps?
Build a 5 step machine that will turn on a light
switch...can't be system of all the same steps.
Answer: Hm, let me brainstorm.Try something like this:You
pull a small rope, and it pulls a ramp, that lets
a ball roll down. This ball hits some dominos,
that start falling towards a direction. The
dominos hit finally another ball, which hits a
button that turns on a fan. This fan points
towards a small toy sailboat, that floats in some
water dish towards a button that turns on the
light. See, use your imagination. This took me
20 seconds to think up. Just think, it can be
fun.

Question #15: Lateral thigh trainer?
I have seen this 'Lateral thigh trainer' on sky.
It's like a stepping machine but it goes
side-to-side aswell. Im thinking of getting one as
they look pretty good.Has anyone bought or used
the laterial thigh trainer and did it work for
you?If so how well?Thanks x
Answer: I bought the thigh-trainer then found similar
models much cheaper elsewhere, although I'm not
sure how they compare. The DVD that comes with the
trainer works the upper-body as well as just
stepping up and down and I did notice an
improvement in my muscle tone but like most
fitness ideas of mine the novelty soon wore off
and now it is gathering dust!If you have the
commitment then I'm sure it would work for you but
the DVD gets boring after the first week.

Question #17: Cardio question?
I know I need to do cardio for at least 30
minutes. I have a stair stepping machine which is
convient for me because I have an 11 month old.
But is doing mainly this type of cardio going to
make my thighs huge? I usually do this 5-6 days a
week for 35-45 minutes. Sometimes I will run. But
the main thing is the stepper. I walk my son
everyday in his stroller for about 30minutes also
at medium pace.
Answer: no building the muscle (making them huge) would be
from weight lifting. Cardio burns fat by raising
the heartrate toning the muscle burning calories
ect. Just stay away from heavy squating with
barbells and dumbbell lunges or leg extentions

Question #18: Three-ring notebooks are made in 2 steps. Machine A makes 180 covers per hour. Later, machine B attaches.....?
cont'd..attaches the 3-ring paper holder and
completes 150 notebooks per hour. How many hours
should Machine A run in order to produce the right
number of covers for machine B to finish in
exactly 8 hours of its operation?(this problem
confuses me..could someone help and show me how
they figured out their answer PLEASE. Thanks!!!
Answer: eight hours of operation of machine B finishing
150 binders per hour would need 8*150=1200 items
to complete. For machine A to create 1200 items to
pass to machine B would take the number required
divided by the number per hour machine A is able
to create. 1200/180=400/60=6 remainder 40That
equates to 6 hours 40 Minutes or 6 2/3 hours.

Question #19: Is the calorie counter on a stair stepping machine accurate?
It's new. I was wondering how accurate it was if I
want to count how many calories I have burned
after each use.
Answer: Generally speaking, the calorie counters that come
with these machines in most gyms aren't all that
accurate. Calculating the precise amount of
calories you burn is complex and varies from
person to person. For the most part, they tend to
overestimate the amount of calories you're
actually burning. So, look at them as a good rough
guide, but nothing accurate.Think of it this way:
if you work out for 30 to 45min or so with a
decent level of intensity such that your heart
rate is really crankin', then you've done well.
Focus on the big picture, and don't get too hung
up on calorie burning numbers.
