I've read in numerous articles that whey protein works real well when trying to establish muscle but I don't know if it has negative effects (on females especially.) evening all.ive started taking that whey protein stuff, (very yummy)will i get the same effects drinking it out of a normal mug/cup,or do i HAVE to drink it out of one of those special sports shake things.I was wondering this because you obviously wont get as much in a mug/cup. ( kind of answered my own question)But my point is, will i still get the required amount of protein etc..thanksmayday33...theres always one smart a$$.

Answer: that is kind of a silly question if you think about it. most whey products call for 1 or 2 scoops of powder per drink, if you use the required amount of scoops to make your shake, it doesnt matter if you mix it in a coffee mug, a beer mug, wine glass, a bucket, or the speacial shakers they sell for them. the shakers are about 1 dollar apiece if you find them on sale and are well worth purchasing. they make it easier nd more convenient to mix and carry your shakes with you.

When is the best time to drink it?

Answer: Most studies (and the latest) show that the best time to drink it is 30 minutes to an hour before you work out and then a drink right after. I am sure if you ask 10 different people you will get 10 different answers....everyone's body reacts differently. Good luck with your workouts!!:)

Answer: Hi, well you havent really given me to much detail as to why you want to take whey protein but you wont put on fat with whey.It is a fast absorbing protein that people usually use after a work out to give there muscles back what they lost to keep there body catabolic, meaning that whey feeds the muscle in order to grow.If youre looking to gain muscle and are indeed working out i would suggest drinking one scoop before and after a workout. usually when u buy a tub it is 20 grams of protein.And the rule of thumb is 1 gram per pound of body weight that you weigh. for example if you weigh 200lbs then 200grams a day good luck

I just bough whey protein and I was wonder if you have any suggestions on when, and how many times a day/week, I should use it.

Answer: I take it right after I lift weights, and take it on days when I know I havent gotten that much protein in the food that I ate. Do not over do protein though, it can lead to fat gain.

i do track at school. i do weight lifting for track, and pushups. i bought whey protein and i plan on using it. i would like to get a little bigger arms, pecs, and wrists(my wrists are very thin.) will whey help me, and whow much should i use a day.( 1 serving is 43 grams of protein.i dont do a lot of weight lifting, just 2 days a week!

Does having whey protein shakes help you loose weight (when taken as a meal replacement/between meals) or, is it only used to help gain muscle? A friend of mine suggested that I should be eating 5 meals a day......3 normal meals of food & then 2 whey protein shakes in between , so that I will be consuming something every 3 hours or so to keep my metabolism up. ( &, in combination with my normal exercise routine & eating healthy)Will this really help me loose? I'm pretty toned up, just need to loose some weight, so, I'm not looking to gain any muscles.
