Question #3: Soy protein compared to whey...?
I take soy protein after workouts instead of whey
because i cant stand whey flavors. What is the
difference, and how can i make up for it. I know
soy lacks certain amino acids.. is there anything
i could buy that has the amino acids (pills, etc.)
Answer: Soy is mostly found on meats. I may not know alot
about soy protein but I'm sure as hell that whey
gets digested super fast! Your body is in a
constant anabolic state after workouts. During
these times, your muscles are in a unique position
to suck up nutrients. The problem is, regular soy
or casein protein never gets digested quick enough
to feed your muscles while its at its anabolic
state. Only whey can do that because it will go
directly on your muscles just after 5 minutes of
consuming it. So you might wanna reconsider about
switching your shake.Anyways, about the amino
acids, you could find creatine pills on almost all
Vitamin shops. L-glutamine, which speeds up your
recovery time is sometimes found on regular
protein shakes. Just check out the nutrition
facts.

Question #4: Best way to eat your soy protein powder?
So I got my big 'ol bucket a few days ago, and I'm
really not enjoying the taste. The label suggests
mixing 1 scoop with 4 oz of water. This just
tastes like really really watered down rice/soy
milk. So I mixed it with rice milk which has more
of the same flavor, and it chunked up--badly.
Maybe I'll try heating the milk first. What's the
least "yucky" way to eat it?I'm aware
that much of the powder isn't utilized, but I want
a particularly high protein intake so I can build
my upper body. Getting this purely from food as a
vegetarian would mean that all of my meals have to
be specifically high-protein, and that's very
inconvenient. :(
Answer: Blend it with some sugar and peanut butter.

Question #5: Is soy protein as good for you as regular protein?
I bought some whey powder and it has 21 grams of
soy protein. Is that the same?
Answer: Whey isn't soy; it comes from milk. It's what they
press out of cheese and what the liquid stuff is
in cottage cheese. But both whey and soy are just
as good as meat if not better. You would be better
off eating them in thier pure form instead of as
powder though. Look up some recipes or have some
cottage cheese with fruit.

Question #6: Is "soy protein isolates" good or bad?
I have been told different things, is soy protein
isolates a good thing or bad? Is it a natural
ingredient or manufactured?
Answer: Soy protien is junk. Your body can barely use it,
and in men it increases estrogen levels, and shuts
down testosterone production. Isolate just means
the protien is separated form the fat and carbs.
It's not very natural, either.

i went to gnc and bought a soy protein powder gnc
brand. its called soy protein 95. im a male 15
years old and i was wondering if this will help me
lose fat and build muscle. will i build lean
muscle with this drink? dont want to be a body
builder or anythingIf so when should i take this
drink it says it is recomended to take twice a
day.i know you should take it after working out
but when do you take the other one or is it only
necesarry to take one. \oh yeah it has 25 grams of
protein and 5 grams of carbs.thank you
Answer: If you use protein drink when you work out with
weights then it will help to make muscle and
muscle helps burn fat, but if your just drinking
it and not exercising then the extra protein will
be stored as fat that you do not burn off.

Question #8: If I lift weights, will Soy protein Supplement help me?
I've been eating beans and rice everyday, but I
want somethin ga little extra. Meat protein, whey
and egg protein upsets my stomach. Soy, peanut
butter and bean protein are easier for my stomach.
But , are those acceptable types of protiens?
Answer: Yes, they are but make sure you are taking in a
variety of protien and not just getting it from
one source. Walnuts are very good too and have
omega 3 and 6 in them as well as flaxseed. Whole
grain, and legumes have lots of proiten as well.
However, you need to exercise caution not to
intake more protien than your body uses or you
will end up storing it as fat. Protien should be
consumed in small amounts throughout the day and
not in bulk at once. Here's a good website with
protein rich foods as well as one with a list of
vegetarian atheletes.

Is this ok? I have two soy protein shakes a day
along with 8 oz of lean poultry. Is it too much
soy?
Answer: it's ok but not optimum for health. all foods
have different nutrient profiles, higher in this
and lower in that. to reduce the risk of any
nutrient deficiencies it's best to vary your
protein sources. try to vary your protein source
with each meal
